Regular Season Round 8: Vancouver - Saskatchewan 92-88
Date: June 17, 2023
Rather expected game when 9th ranked Rattlers (2-5) lost to seventh ranked Bandits (4-4) in Langley 88-92 on Saturday. The winners were led by American forward Nick Ward (203-1997, college: Michigan St.) who scored that evening 22 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Shane Gibson (188-1990, college: Sacred Heart) supported him with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Four Bandits players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) by American point guard Justin Wright-Foreman (183-1997, college: Hofstra) did not help to save the game for Rattlers. British-Canadian forward Jermel Kennedy (201-1989, college: Lander) added 14 points for the guests. Bandits have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Niagara and Brampton. Rattlers lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. Bandits will meet league's second-placed Sea Bears in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rattlers will have a break next round.
