Regular Season Round 3: Niagara - Saskatchewan 116-74

Date: June 3, 2023
There was an upset when Rattlers (2-1) were smashed by River Lions (1-3) in Niagara 116-74 on Saturday. River Lions made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Rattlers turnovers and had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. River Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Rattlers' players. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Khalil Ahmad (191-1996, college: CS Fullerton) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. Guard Jahvon Henry-Blair (193-1998, college: Georgetown) accounted for 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five River Lions players scored in double figures. American point guard Justin Wright-Foreman (183-1997, college: Hofstra) came up with 21 points and forward Anthony Tsegakele (198-1999) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Rattlers in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. River Lions will meet at home Shooting Stars (#10) in the next round. Rattlers will play against Shooting Stars (#10) in Toronto and hope to secure a win.
