Regular Season Round 7: Saskatchewan - Edmonton 56-87

Leader Edmonton blasted bottom-ranked Saskatchewan (0-6) in Saskatoon 87-56 on Saturday evening keeping the perfect record after 7 rounds. Saskatchewan is still unable to win any game. Edmonton dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Saskatchewan's 28. They outrebounded Saskatchewan 43-30 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for swingman Jordan Baker (201-91, college: Alberta) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Marlon Johnson (208-94, college: NMHU) helped adding 21 points and 11 rebounds. Four Edmonton players scored in double figures. Edmonton's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Devonte Bandoo (190-0, college: Baylor) responded with 15 points and forward DAndre Bernard (203-96, college: ULM) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Edmonton. Defending champion maintains second place with 5-0 record behind leader Hamilton. Saskatchewan lost their sixth game in a row. Defending champion still closes the standings with six games lost. Edmonton will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Saskatchewan will play again against the league's second-placed Edmonton (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
