San Diego Guardians fired past California SeaKings to secure the semifinal berth. Guardians made 28-of-35 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 27 Seakings turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Seakings' players. Seakings were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Swingman Nigel Jones (201-90, college: Talladega) notched 32 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals to lead the effort and Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St.) supported him with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even a double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds by guard Fred Lavender (193, college: CS Stanislaus) did not help to save the game for Seakings. Larry Wickett (196, college: UMFK) added 23 points and 10 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
