Fire looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fire made 7 blocks. Guard Deshawn Munson (193-1995, college: Harris-Stowe St.) notched a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 19 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the effort and point guard Daylon Guy (183-1992, college: Tarleton St.) supported him with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 16 assists and 5 steals. Fire's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 27 points and 10 assists by guard Dennis Jones (188-1998, college: PVAMU) did not help to save the game for 7ers . Jeremiah Gilliam (201-2001, college: Frank Phillips) added 22 points and 17 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
