Regular Season Round 6: Blaze - Wolves 90-87

Undefeated Wolves (5-1) recorded its first loss on the court of fourth ranked Blaze on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Blaze 90-87. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Wolves. Blaze made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Strangely Wolves outrebounded Blaze 51-34 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Doris Jones (175-1998, college: UCSB) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. Canadian-American guard Ameela Li (168-1997, college: Pacific) chipped in 29 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Rebecca Harris (173-1986, college: Illinois, agency: LBM Management) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists and Canadian-Jamaican guard Faatimah Amen-Ra (168-1991, college: Toronto) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Five Wolves players scored in double figures. Blaze have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Wolves at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. They share it with Swish. Blaze are looking forward to face Riptide (#7) in San Francisco in the next round. Wolves will play against Valkyrie (#8) and are hoping to win this game.
