Marquardt's 34-point game gives him Player of the Week award

30-year old American guard Charlie Marquardt (193-G-1995) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Sudbury Five and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
He had the game-high 34 points adding six rebounds and two assists for Sudbury F. in his team's victory, helping them to beat Windsor Exp. (#3, 4-7) 105-97. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Five to take over top position in the BSL league. Sudbury F. have a solid 8-1 record. In the team's last game Marquardt had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got seven three-pointers out of 10 attempts. He turned to be Five's top player in his first season with the team. Molloy College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Marquardt is league's best scorer averaging so far 24.0ppg. Marquardt is in league's top in and averages solid 43.7% from behind 3-point line. Worth to mention Marquardt played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

Second best performed player last round was Tafari Beckford (196-F-1995) of Montreal Toundra. He is American forward in his first season at Montreal T.. In the last game Beckford recorded an impressive double-double of 30 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Toundra was edged by slightly higher-ranked Windsor Exp. (#3, 4-7) 105-101. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Montreal T. still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 3-5 record. Beckford is a newcomer at Montreal T. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. Former Davenport University star Beckford is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third place about best performers goes to center Will Brown (213-C-1997, agency: DITR) of Windsor Express (#3). Brown showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, 11 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Brown's great performance the Windsor Express lost 97-105 to #1 ranked Sudbury F.. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Windsor Exp. not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 7 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Brown could try to bring Windsor Exp.'s a little bit higher in the standings. Brown has individually a great season in BSL. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 6.5rpg (5th best).
