Banner Raising Kicks Off Five Home Opener

The Sudbury Five is set to kick off the 2025/26 BSL season at home with a matchup against the Lake Erie Jackals on Monday, December 29th. With tipoff set for 7:00pm, be sure to be in your seats for a special pre-game championship ceremony. The Five return to the court ready to Defend The Throne on a quest for back-to-back championships. Returning players such as Duane Notice (6'2''-G-1994, college: S.Carolina), Allen Billinger, Charlie Marquardt (6'4''-G-1995, college: Molloy), and Nervens Demosthenes (5'10''-PG-1995) bring a championship DNA back to the Five under new head coach Joey Puddister. Additions such as the reigning and back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year Jaquan Lightfoot, and former Jackals Devante Jamison (5'8''-PG, college: FDU) and Emmett Duvall) bring valuable BSL experience to the Five. Additions with pro basketball experience include Michael Okafor, Keyshawn Bryant (6'5''-F-1999, college: S.Florida), and Alex Kotov (6'10''-F-1999, college: Campbell), while Cecil Lee looks to cement himself as a key contributor in his first season. December 29th will be a special night for Sudbury, as it marks the night that the Five’s 2025 BSL Championship banner will be hung in the rafters. Along with the pre-game ceremony, the first 1000 fans in attendance will receive a commemorative mini banner to forever remember the first professional championship in city history.
