BSL round 17 best performance: Dwight Burton

American Guard Dwight Burton (185-G-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for Pontiac Pharaohs, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Newfoundland R. (#7, 6-12) 132-117. Pharaohs maintains the 4th position in BSL . Pontiac P. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-9 record. In the team's last game Burton had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Pharaohs's top player in his first season with the team. Dwight Burton averages this season 12.7ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Tarkus Ferguson (193-G-1995) of Newfoundland Rogues. Ferguson had a very good evening with a double-double of 34 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Rogues lost that game 99-110 to the higher-ranked Windsor Exp. (#2, 14-4). This loss caused Newfoundland R. to drop to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-12 record. Ferguson is a newcomer at Newfoundland R., but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Pontiac P.'s star - American guard Jaire Grayer (196-G-1996). Grayer showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, 20 rebounds (!!!) and 8 assists in the last round. He was another key player of Pontiac Pharaohs, helping his team with a 132-117 easy win against the lower-ranked Newfoundland R. (#7, 6-12). The chances of Pharaohs ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Grayer could help Pontiac P. to bring them higher in the standings. Grayer has a great season in BSL. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.2ppg (3rd best), rebounds with 10.6rpg (2nd best) and assists with 3.7apg (8th best). He also has 1.2bpg and a FGP of 54.4%.
