Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game of round 14 was a defeat of league's leader Bobcats (1-1). They were crushed by first ranked Titans (16-7) 125-99 on Thursday night. KW Titans shot 24 for 32 from the free-throw line, while Kokomo B. only scored five points from the stripe. They outrebounded Kokomo B. 50-21 including a 44-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. KW Titans looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Jaquan Lightfoot (203, college: Southeastern) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Mike Bruce (193-1998, college: Lourdes) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) during the contest. Titans' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Johnny Griffin Jr. (197-1995, college: Loyola, LA) responded with 4 points, 10 rebounds and 16 assists (on 27-of-27 shooting from the field). KW Titans maintains first position with 16-7 record. Kokomo B. at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Frederick FC. Kokomo B. will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. KW Titans will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Montreal T. on the road.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked London Lightning (15-9) against fourth ranked Windsor Express (11-8) on Friday night. Visiting London Lightning was defeated by Windsor Express in Windsor 117-107. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Shadell Millinghaus (188-1994, college: Georgetown, KY) notched 38 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Calvin Blaydes supported him with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists by point guard Chris Jones (182-1991, college: Louisville, agency: Haylett Sports) did not help to save the game for London. London Lightning's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Windsor Exp. maintains fourth position with 11-8 record. London at the other side keeps the second place with nine games lost. Windsor Exp. will play against Montreal T. (#6) on the road in the next round. London will play against Montreal T. (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Armani Chaney produced a triple-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 14 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Montreal T. maintains sixth position with 7-10 record. Loser Rogues keeps the third place with nine games lost. Montreal T. will meet at home league's leader KW Titans in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Newfoundland R. will play against Rhode Island K. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 14: Kokomo B. won against London on the opponent's court 110-106. Newfoundland R. managed to outperform Montreal T. in a home game 115-107. KW Titans managed to beat Sudbury F. on the road 127-122. Sudbury F. defeated Windsor Exp. on its own court 115-108. Montreal T. beat Newfoundland R. in a road game 138-127.



London L. - Kokomo B. 106-110

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second-ranked London Lightning's (15-9) home loss to first ranked Bobcats (1-1) 106-110 on Tuesday. The best player for the winners was American center Corey Boyd (206-1998, agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Larry Plummer (190-1996, college: Missouri Valley) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Boyd is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Bobcats players scored in double figures. Guard Jermaine Haley Jr (201-1997, college: WVU) produced 29 points and 4 assists and American point guard Nick Garth (183-1996, college: Lamar) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Despite that victory Bobcats went down to second position due to points difference which they share with defeated London Lightning. Loser London Lightning keeps the second place with nine games lost. Kokomo B. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. London will play against Montreal T. and hope to secure a win.

Rather predictable result in St. John's where third ranked Rogues (12-9) defeated 6th ranked Toundra (7-10) 115-107 on Thursday. Newfoundland R. made 41-of-46 free shots (89.1 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American point guard Armani Chaney (178-1997, college: Tennessee St.) who scored 32 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The other American import swingman Marquis Collins (203, college: UMSL) chipped in 23 points. Worth to mention Chaney played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. American guard Antoine Mason (191-1992, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) produced 44 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and Mali-Canadian guard Mambi Diawara (198-1994, college: Calgary) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Newfoundland R. and four Montreal T. players scored in double figures. Toundra's coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newfoundland R. maintains third position with 12-9 record having six points less than leader Frederick FC. Loser Toundra keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. Newfoundland R. will meet at home Rhode Island K. (#4) in the next round. Montreal T. will play against the league's leader KW Titans and hope to secure a win.
