Pride Becomes Generals Downfall

Corydon, Indiana-Today the Southern Indiana Generals squared off against the Southern Illinois Pride. The Pride won 115-99, leaving the Generals with a 1-1
record. The game was tied at halftime. It was a back and forth game for most of the game. In the end the fast breaks were too much for the Generals. Gus Moss
led the Pride with 34 points. Vince Mack had 24 as well. As a team the Pride hit 17 three pointers. They started the game on fire, hitting 5 of their first 7
three point attempts. The Generals were lead by local talent. Craig Adams (Crawford County) had 28 points and 5 assists, Bradley Smith (Lanesville,
Indiana U. Northwest) had 26 and 7 rebounds, Brian Mercer (South Central, Black Hawk Community College) had 21 and 9 rebounds, Kurt Savely (Corydon Central,
Ancilla Junior College) had 12, 9 assists and 6 rebounds , Chad Backherms (Corydon) also had 12 and 5 rebounds. Next week the Generals travel to
Evansville to play the Tri-State Tankers.
The Centrallia Pride are new to the league, moving over from the failed Midwest Basketball League.
