E.J. Gallup
The American Basketball Association (ABA) has announced that that it has added some new teams for the upcoming 2019-2020 season that begins in November.
One is the Brenham Purple Reign. "This is a great addition to the terrific South Central Division," stated ABA CEO. "We're really pleased to have Mike Lewis and the Rebirth Media and Sports Group from Houston, TX as part of the ABA." The team will be playing in the Brenham ISD Center and games will be carried on KWHI AM 1360 in Brenham. Michael Lewis will serve as GM/Head Coach; Michael White as the Assistant Coach.

Another new team is the Spa City Gamblers, located in Saratoga, NY. "We are very pleased to have E.J. Gallup as part of the ABA," stated ABA CEO Joe Newman . "EJ has a history of great success on and off the court and should do well in the strong Northeast Division. Definitely a team to watch." Gallup was an All-Conference player at both the University at Albany and Coastal Carolina University before playing pro ball professionally in the US and Europe. In two US-based pro leagues, his teams won their league championships and he is currently a member of Team Fredette (Jimmer Fredette) that made a final four appearance last year in ESPN's $2 Million Dollar tournament. Gallup currently owns and operates a used car dealership and a bar and grill in his hometown of Gloversville NY.
"I am very happy to be a part of the great ABA," added Gallup. "The competition is very strong in this division with several highly ranked teams; we do have our work cut out for us. And we're up to the challenge."

The third new team is the Las Vegas Pharaohs. "While we have two teams in the LV area already," stated ABA CEO Joe Newman , "Las Vegas is a great city for sports and is large enough to handle a third team and to build a great fan base. The rivalry should be tremendous; sort of like the MGM vs Caesars or the Venetian vs Bellagio." The team is owned by Trevill Martin, a Las Vegas businessman who played basketball for Sierra Vista High School before playing for Pacific University in Riverside CA where he studied kinesiology and personal training and then a stint in the pros.
"I feel that it is time for me to bring my vision to the ABA," added Martin. "I feel like I can effectively make a huge change in our community. I am a firm believer in community and that's what the Pharoahs are all about."
