Unranked Atlanta Aliens pulls another upset over ABA #18 Power Ranked Tri-City Blackhawks 151-135. The Aliens are, without a doubt, one of the hottest teams in the ABA right now. They are currently riding a seven game winning streak from regular season then knocking out four different ABA Power Ranked teams to advance to the 2019 Southeast Regional Championship Game.
The Aliens traveled to Phenix City, Alabama without two of their primary key players and struggled with the Blackhawks in the first half trailing at halftime 65-62. Without the primary guard play, Aliens General Manager and Head Coach Duck Richards , adjusted his game strategy slightly to utilized his twin towers interior game more often and that was the difference in the end. Rashad Faust (6'8''-F/C-87, college: Co.Georgia) and Thomas Brown (6'7''-F-86, college: Lamar) both combined for 70pts and 27rebs alone (Faust 40pts/12rebs and Brown 30pts/15rebs). Backup guards Alex Bonner (6'3''-G, college: LaGrange) 27pts and Jacqueis Murrell (6'3''-G) 23pts stepped up huge to fill the void. Michael Stanley (6'2''-G, college: Emmanuel, GA) 20pts and Jeremy Steele (6'1''-G) 12pts.
Atlanta Aliens will play Port City Tornados on March 23, 2019 for the 2019 Southeast Regional Championship with the winner advancing to the ABA Elite-8 in St. Louis.
