The American Basketball Association (ABA) announced that it has added two teams to its growing list of expansion teams for the 2019 season.
The first one is named Ohio Kings. The Kings will be owned by a trio of owners including Kevin L. Aldridge, a pastor, coach, entrepreneurand motivational speaker who has helped many people overcome everyday life challenges for nearly 20 years. Aldridge is CEO and Co-Founder of Kingdom Vision Outreach that specializes in character development of youth and serves as Head Girls Basketball Coach for Middletown High School. Owner two is Kelven Moss who is beginning his third season as Head Men's Basketball Coach at Miami University Hamilton. Owner three is Kevin S. Aldridge, a Middletowen OH native and veteran journalist with more than 20 years experience in the news media, now the Opinion Editor for the Cincinnati Enquirer and Cincinnati.com as well as a senior pastor of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Milford, OH. The second new team is named Albuquerque Bull Snakes. "We have not had a team in New Mexico for many years," stated ABA co-founder Joe Newman . "It is great to be back, a terrific fit for our Far West Division, and we are fortunate to have a strong owner in Nick Lourenco. Nick is a seasoned Human Resource Officer who is also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. He studied Automation Systems Engineering at the prestigious Jose A.Echeverria University in Havana and has been in human resources for a number of companies in the US and internationally. He currently works as Director of Human Resources at Home Instead Senior Care, a Global Senior Care Corporation. "Good people make good businesses," added Lourenco. "I hope to bring to the Bull Snakes a fabulous group of people with diverse backgrounds to help make our team one of the best in the ABA on and off the court." Just after the succesful 2018-19 seaosn ending, the American Basketball Association (ABA) announced that it has added some new teams for the upcoming 2019-2020 season that begins in November. Giants Win Fourth Straight ABA Championship, Sixth Total - 11 days ago
(story by Matt Potak) Another historic record setting season comes to an end with the Jacksonville Giants once again on top. The Giants won their fourth straight ABA National Championship with a gutsy, 116-112, win over the South Florida Gold. Jacksonville is the only ABA team to win six total championships.
