SAN ANGELO, TX - The TPBL for the second year will be sponsoring and hosting one of the biggest high school basketball tournament series in the state. The 2ND ANNUAL WEST TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SHOOT OUT has two divisions BOYS & GIRLS and all classifications , 1A-5A , are welcome to this big event. Last years champion DEL RIO, TX will be returning to the tournament and is looking to repeat as champion in the boys division. Here is more info on the tournament :

SAN ANGELO, TX - will be the location for the 2009 SAN ANGELO CHAPARRALS team try outs. The Chaps had another tough run at a championship but came up short to the defending TPBL champs the Midland Heat. Alll players are asked to bring your own work out gear and be prepared to work out twice in one day. All players are welcome to try out but should know in advance that the team is looking for players wanting to win championships!!!! Here is the try out information :

  TPBL TITLE STAYS IN MIDLAND , TX - Apr. 21, 2008 - by Chris Cardenas

San Angelo, Tx - was the site for game 2 of the TPBL championship series and the Midland Heat made sure it was the last game of the season. With steady guard play from super quick guards Charles Tatum and Ray Williams (23 points each ) the Heat pulled away from the San Angelo Chaparrals to take game 2 and the TPBL title with a 95-76 decision. From the TPBL : CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MIDLAND HEAT FOR 'BACK TO BACK' TPBL CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!!!!

  MIDLAND HEAT RUN AWAY WITH GAME 1 : 2008 TPBL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES - Apr. 14, 2008 - by Chris Cardenas


Midland , Tx -- Charles Tatum , the 2007 TPBL MVP and guard of the Midland Heat , refused to let the San Angelo Chaparrals come into their gym and take game 1. Tatum and the Heat came out firing on all cylinders in game 1 of the TPBL championship series winning 103 - 86. Tatum ended the game with 26 points and went 5 for 8 behind the 3 point arch. Ray williams and Chauncey Ephraim were also big scoring threats against the short handed Chaparrals. The Chaparrals were led by 6'7 forward Adam mobley who finished with 18 points 11 rebounds.

BIG SURPRISE TEXAS!!! The San Angelo Chaparrals , took care of business! The Midland Heat, took care of business......both series 2-0 !! Now , in a repeat of the 2007 series , both teams will battle in an all west texas shoot out. The 14th Annual All Star Classic mens basketball tournament promises to bring out some of the best teams texas has to offer......and for you older ball players, theres a division for you too. It's been a long hard fought season, but the TPBL is ready to start the playoffs!!!! The two 1st round match ups will make for really good playoffs games with teams that can really put some points up on the board.
Los Gallos De Pellae are the 2008 regular season champions and dont seem to be ready to let anyone take the Championship trophy. Good luck to all the TPBL playoffs teams!!
