Crusaders 69 Cartersville-Baseline Warriors 63 The Crusaders got out to a strong start early, leading by as much as 19-7 before taking a 35-27 lead into the intermission. A roster depleted Warriors squad fought back to take the lead late, but miscued in the waning seconds, as a turnover set up a huge three pointer by Brolin Floyd, to put the Crusaders back in front 65-63. Baseline was unable to answer on two consecutive possessions in the end were forced to foul. The Crusaders iced the game at the freethrow line, to open the 2011 SEBL season with a big win. Jermaine Spivey led the Warriors (0-1) with 24 points, while DeAntre Jefferson had 11 and Jonathan Adams 10. For the Crusaders (1-0), Floyd finished with a game high 21, while Kenny Spotwood had 16 and Joseph Quinn 11.
Bartow Buckets 72 BC Skyline 69 The Bartow Buckets, formerly named the BC Celtics in the SEBL, got off to a great start to the 2011 season. Led by Emmanuel Holloways steady scoring, the Buckets had built a seemingly comfortable 40-30 lead over Skyline. But, they had to work hard to hold on in the end, as Skyline scraped back behind the offense of Tareek Roach, who nailed several long threes. The Buckets got two key buckets in the final minutes from Alex Cornett to help them squeek out a win. Roach led all scorers with 23 for Skyline (0-1), while David Dabel had 14 and Ishmael John 11. For the Buckets (1-0), Holloway paced the way with 21, as John David Nickerson collected 19 and Cornett 13.
Marietta Outlaw 77 Summer Hill Blue Devils 64 Marietta enjoyed two runs to help put the young Summer Hill team away. After falling down by eight early, the Outlaws first run came late in the first half behind the active inside play of Antonio Shaw, which pushed Marietta to a 10 point half-time cushion. The Blue Devils clawed back into the game, and behind the scoring punch of Sean Tate and Jerrod Jenkins, clawed back to within two with 11 minutes remaining. But, Marietta again turned on the their veteran ways and went on another big run, stretching their lead to as many as 19 with just over seven minutes remaining. Summer Hill managed to again trim the lead down to eight at one point late, but Marietta thwarted any comeback plans with perimeter shots from Lance Tippett and Ken Moore. For Summer Hill (0-1), Jenkins and Tate both finished with 13 for Summer Hill and Coleco Kidd had 11. For Marietta (1-0), Shaw chalked up 21, as Tippett and Moore tallied 18 and 13, respectively.

UTAH FLASH NAME KEVIN YOUNG AS HEAD COACH
OREM, UT - September 7, 2010 - The Utah Flash introduced Kevin Young as its new head coach for the 2010-11 season. Young has been a vital part of the Utah Flash staff since the teams inception in 2007 and adds a wealth of basketball knowledge to the organization.
We are very excited to have Kevin take charge of this team and lead us through the 2010-11 season, said Team President Drew Sellers. Kevin has proven himself worthy to join the head coaching ranks.
Young has filled various roles within the Flash organization including assistant coach, scout, and director of basketball operations. He has participated in on-court coaching, player development, and has been an important aspect of player personnel decisions for the Utah Flash in its first three seasons.
In addition to his time with the Flash, Young has spent time overseas as a head coach in Ireland, Estonia, and China. He is a graduate of Clayton State University where he is a top ten record holder in several statistical categories as a player.
Young will assume the head coaching role for the Flash immediately and will look to fill vacancies in the assistant coaching position as well as put together a competitive roster for the 2010-11 season.
As a player, Young was member of the BC Lakers SEBL team, also played for BaselineUSA in a number of exhibition tour games. This past spring, he recently he served as the Manager and Head Coach for the BaselineUSA Warriors trip to China, where they competed against teams from the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He guided the Warriors to a 10-2 record on the month long trip.

Marietta, GA - The SEBL Baseline club, coached by Marcus Hughes continues to be the surprise of the King of Hoops Tournament this weekend at All Tournament Players Park. VIP, who won the nationally renowned tournament a couple of summers ago, became the second former title holder to fall to the upstart SEBL-Baseline Warrior squad. The Warriors also got by Dirty South earlier in the tournament.

Marietta, GA - The SEBL Baseline club, coached by Marcus Hughes continues to be the surprise of the King of Hoops Tournament this weekend at All Tournament Players Park. VIP, who won the nationally renowned tournament a couple of summers ago, became the second former title holder to fall to the upstart SEBL-Baseline Warrior squad. The Warriors also got by Dirty South earlier in the tournament. . In what has become pattern for the Warriors, they started out slowly and fell behind by as many as 17-8 early in the game. After sizing the situation up and making some key adjustments, Hughes and the Warriors fought back to take the lead. VIP did not go away easily as the game stayed close through out the second half, until several key baskets by Ernest Scott (6'7''-F-82) helped the SEBL pull away down the stretch for an all-important 92-84 win. . The win means the Warriors move into Sunday's set of games still in the winners bracket and the opportunity to get ample rest to prepare for their next game at 1:00pm against a very good Team Momentum out of Dallas, TX. Momentum, who is the only other team remaining in the tourney without a loss, is the reigning title holder of the King of Hoops Tournament that was held in Texas earlier this summer. Had the Warriors fallen against VIP, the would had had to play at 10:30am on Sunday morning, so the opportunity to rest is paramount. . SEBL-Baseline Roster: . Going into the tournament, Hughes had signed several other players to fill the roster. Yamene Coleman (6'9''-C-86, college: Troy), Benjamin Puckett (6'9''-F-83, college: Clayton St.), Brandon Thomas (6'6''-G/F-84, agency: Rasmussen Services, college: Massachusetts), Jon Rogers (6'9''-F/C-84, college: Valdosta St.) and Brian Harper (6'10''-F/G-85, agency: 540 Sports, college: Paine). All three players were offered deals to go overseas during the last couple of days. Coleman will be playing in Romania, while Rogers inked a deal to go to Uruguay, Thomas signed to return to Germany and Harper signed in the Ukraine.
