Army West Point Wins Patriot League Women's Basketball Championship - Mar 13, 2016

Black Knights down Loyola 69-51 for third League title.
After dominating the Patriot League all season, Army West Point did it one more time with a 69-51 victory over Loyola University Maryland in the Women's Basketball Championship on Saturday at Christl Arena.
The #1 seed Black Knights improved to 29-2 overall with their 19th consecutive victory. Army West Point wins its third Patriot League title and second in the past three years. The #3 seed Greyhounds have their season come to an end with a 16-16 record.
The Black Knights took a 20-9 lead after the first quarter, but Loyola stormed ahead with a 12-0 run to take the lead midway through the second. Army West Point would answer with a 10-0 run of its own to grab the lead back for good and take a 33-23 advantage into the half. The Black Knights held a double-digit lead for the final 17 minutes of the contest, going up by as many as 20 points before settling on the 69-51 win.
Army West Point senior Kelsey Minato (5'8''-PG-94) was named Patriot League Tournament MVP for the second time in three seasons as she led the Black Knights with 25 points in the victory.
