  follow us on Facebook Twitter

Washington Mystics agreed terms with 31-year old Australian international point guard Leilani Mitchell (165-59kg-85, college: Utah). She played this summer at Phoenix Mercury (WNBA). The last season Mitchell played at Adelaide Lightning in Australian WNBL where in 24 games she had very impressive stats: 17.4ppg, 3.6rpg, 5.3apg (top 3) and 2.1spg (in top 2). A very spectacular season in her career as she was named to All-Australian WNBL 1st Team.
In 2008 she was drafted by Phoenix Mercury (WNBA) in second round (25th overall).
Mitchell attended University of Utah and it will be her ninth season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others she won Croatian A1 championship title in 2013. Mitchell was also voted All-WNBA Most Improved Player of the Year and All-French LFB Import Player of the Year back in 2010.
She represented Australia at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) this year.
Mitchell's career allowed her to visit three different continents. She tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Australia and of course North America. Mitchell has played previously professionally in other WNBA teams (New York Liberty), Australia (Sydney Uni Flames and Dandenong Rangers) and Croatia (Lupa Promotion).
On Mitchell: A very good player, who plays with a lot of composure, can shoot the three-pointer and sees the court well.
