Anna Cruz
Minnesota Lynx landed 30-year old Spaniard international point guard Anna Cruz (173-86). It is actually her comeback to Minnesota Lynx as she has played here before. Cruz moved there from Dynamo Kursk in Russian PBL league where she started the season. The last season she played at Nadezhda Orenburg in PBL. In 22 games she averaged 9.6ppg, 4.1rpg, 3.6apg and 1.3spg. Cruz helped them to make it to the final after they ended regular season as second best team. It was a very successful season in her career as she was selected to Eurobasket.com All-Russian PBL 2nd Team and All-Bosmans Team. Cruz also played 16 games in Euroleague where she had 9.1ppg, 4.7rpg, 3.9apg and 1.3spg. She contributed to her team making it to the final.
Among other achievements Cruz received Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LFB Domestic Player of the Year award back in 2010 and 2013.
She has been also a member of Spanish international program for some years. Cruz has regularly played for Spanish senior team since 2009 and previously for U21 National Team in 2007.
She represented Spain at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) this year. Cruz's team won Silver and her stats at that event were 6 games: 8.8ppg, 4.7rpg, 3.2apg, FGP: 38.6%, 3PT: 20.0%.
Cruz has played also professionally for other Spanish teams like Barcelona, Jopisa Burgos, Rivas Promete and Olesa Espanyol.
Her game is described as: A very talented combo guard who can score if needed and who showed to be able to run very well a team offense from the point.
