Xargay Casademont re-signs at Phoenix Mercury - Jul 8, 2016

Phoenix Mercury confirmed in their roster 26-year old Spaniard point guard Marta Xargay Casademont (181-90). The last season she played at USK Praha (ZBL) in Czech Republic league. In 17 games she had 8.3ppg, 2.4rpg, 3.5apg and 3.1spg. A very impressive season as she was voted All-Czech Rep. D1 Defensive Player of the Year, Guard of the Year and named to 1st Team. Xargay Casademont also played 18 games in Euroleague where she recorded 4.9ppg, 2.1rpg, 2.0apg (top 3) and 1.4spg (leader !!!). She helped them to make it to the semifinals.
Xargay Casademont won Czech Republic D1 championship title.
The previous (14-15) season Xargay Casademont played at Perfumerias Avenida (LFB) in Spanish league. In 31 games she recorded 6.6ppg, 3.2rpg, 3.3apg and 1.9spg. She contributed to her team winning the Supercup and end the regular season at the top position. Xargay Casademont also played 16 games in Euroleague where she recorded 8.1ppg, 3.6rpg, 3.3apg and 2.2spg (in top 5). She contributed to her team making it to the quarterfinals.
She represented Spain at the Olympic Games Additional Qualifying Round in Nantes (France) this year. Her stats at that event were 3 games: 7.7ppg, 4.0rpg, 2.7apg, FGP: 46.2%, 3PT: 27.3%.
Xargay Casademont has played previously for Argon Uni Girona.
