The Los Angeles Sparks have signed guard Jasmine Lister (5'4''-G-92, college: Vanderbilt), executive vice president and general manager Penny Toler announced today. Per team policy, contract details were not disclosed. "Jasmine did an outstanding job last season and proved to be both a competitor and team player," said Toler. "We look forward to having her in training camp and seeing what she can do when working with our full roster." Lister returns to Los Angeles after playing seven games with the Sparks during the 2015 season. Originally signed by the Sparks on June 23, she made her WNBA debut vs. the Washington Mystics, contributing four points, four rebounds and one assist in nine minutes played. In her first three games, she played 52 minutes, shooting 8 of 14 from the field, 4 of 5 from three-point-range and totaled 20 points and four assists. Lister owns career averages of 2.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and 9.3 minutes per game in nine games played with Los Angeles. "Jasmine has proven that she can compete successfully in the WNBA," said Sparks head coach Brian Agler . "She gave us a huge boost ?in competitiveness, toughness, intelligence, attitude and work ethic. We are excited to have her in training camp and know she will compete for a spot on our roster." The 5'4 guard played four seasons at Vanderbilt where she started every game (129) of her career and is Vanderbilt's all-time leader in minutes played, with 4,626. As a senior (2013-14) she was named WBCA All-American Honorable Mention and to the postseason All-SEC Second Team by conference coaches.

26-year old center Brittney Griner (203-C-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for Phoenix M. and receives a Usbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 2. She had a double-double of 32 points and 10 rebounds, while her team crushed Indiana F. (#4, 1-2) with 23-point margin 85-62. Phoenix M. is placed at 3rd position in their group in WNBA WNBA. There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in WNBA. There were many interesting games last round. Sparks defeated Mystics in Los Angeles 99-89. Sparks made 21-of-22 free shots (95.5 percent) during the game.
