Aya Traore

Aya Traore (6'1''-F-83, college: Purdue) is a 2016 Olympian basketball player for Senegal. The University of Purdue Alum, is a great person and basketball player with an amazing skill-set (There are too many accolades to list).
Aya is also a former member of the Montgomery Dream basketball team of the Women's Blue Chip Basketball League (WBCBL). The Montgomery Dream is the predecessor to the Flyers Elite.
After her stint in the WBCBL,


Traore went on to play for various teams in Ukraine and Spain. The 6'1 forward appeared in five of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio this summer and averaged 24 minutes, 7 points and 2.4 rebounds per contest.

There have been several WBCBL players to play for their national team, but Aya is the first known WBCBL to compete in the Olympics.

The Georgia Soul sprinted to a double digit first quarter lead and was never challenged on the way to a 100-71 win over the Beaufort Bisons Saturday at Laney High School. In 2006, Ms. Jessica Kern attended basketball tryouts in Dallas, Texas in hopes of joining a team in the Women's Blue Chip Basketball League. Her hard work and earn her a roster spot on the Dallas Dolphins squad. After a strong performance with the Dolphins, Kern was offered opportunities to play professionally in Germany, Romania, and Switzerland. Jheri Booker (6'0''-F/G-89, college: Tennessee St.) a newcomer to the WBCBL and the South Carolina Storm had an outstanding first game. Sarah Lyon, 2nd team all WBCBL, led all Storm scores with 20 points. With a well balanced attack, the Storm breezed to a 92-58 Atlantic region victory against the Beaufort Bison.
