Des Moines, IA

Des Moines' newest sports attraction, the Iowa Force women's basketball team has begun its inaugural season. Coached by former Drake basketball player Ja'Nae' Mosley, the Force have assembled a current roster of 10 players for this 2016 season.

Now two games into the season, the Force are sitting at a record of 1-1 following an opening week loss to the Nebraska Strikers and a victory this past week against the Missouri Arch Angels. The Force will play their next game at home against the St. Louis Surge, at AIB College of Business in Des Moines on May 21st. The Force will look to advance their record to 2-1 on the season.

At the next home game on the 21st of May, the Force will be doing a fundraiser for Race for Hope Des Moines. Make sure you are at the game that day to find out how you can help.

The Force will also be hosting a basketball camp on Thursday, June 2nd from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Valley Community Center in West Des Moines for ages 8-18. The camp will be free for all who bring a donation to YESS, the Youth Emergency Situations and Shelter of Iowa. For a list of donation items, visit http://www.yessiowa.org/in-kinddonations.aspx. For more information about the camp and to register, visit the Iowa Force website.

While the roster is currently at 10 players, the Force are still looking for more to join. For anyone interested in playing, visit the Iowa Force website.

The Force are also looking for energetic and positive people interested in helping out during the season. For anyone interested, visit the website for more information on available positions.
