WUSBA dominates the womens basketball minor league landscape in the Southeast United States. The league operates from early June through early September. 'Combining the nations leading buffet restaurants with the WUSBA will translate into an unprecedented collaboration, our players and coaches will be able to consume some great nutrious food in vast quantities and at the same time they'll be able to socialize with the fans, it is a very easy fit us,' said Duane Jenkins, President, and C.E.O. of the Womens United States Basketball Association, Inc. 'My family eats at Golden Corral twice a month, my children and I love the ability to publicly gorge ourselves. The desert area is awesome.'
The WUSBA provides exciting, wholesome, athletic competition for young aspiring professional basketball players from around the country. Our new partnership with the WUSBA enables our restaurant to play a significant role in helping these young athletes maintain a healthy diet. Well enjoy watching these young people gorge themselves on our many great dishes,' said Ed Gleich, Golden Corral Vice President of Marketing, 'To tap into the local basketball sports market gives our company an opportunity to expand our customer base and to help maintain tremendous consumer appeal of the hometown team.'

The company is privately held and is headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina. Golden Corral was founded in 1973 and has 485 restaurants in 40 states. The company web address is www.goldencorral.com.
As a part of the compensation package, the WUSBA gives each player and coach a daily meal card redeemable at Golden Corral. 'This company has vast, universal appeal among all age groups and is a perfect brand association for the WUSBA because they are widely known for a sparkling clean environment, coupled with a huge variety of great selections and like the WUSBA their core audience consists mainly of families,' said Jenkins, 'The Golden Corral brand represents all-American fun, a sense of pride and connection with family and friends.'

Collegiate, minor league and international Players are invited to submit resumes and biographies for consideration. 'We are also extending an invitation to basketball players who are based in our team cities.'
The USBA 2010 basketball season runs from April 7, 2010 to July 3, 2010. Each team plays a thirty game schedule, fifteen home and fifteen away. The league has a mid season All Star Game scheduled for the 3rd week of May. The USBA Championship Playoff series begins July 5, 2010 with the Championship game on July 11, 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia. Individual team tryouts are scheduled for March 20, 2010.
The USBA will charge a fee of $75.00 per player for the tryouts. We have never had these fees as a part of our revenue stream; however, if we dont charge a nominal fee, the huddled masses will come to the tryout. We do require all basketball players to have a minimum of two years collegiate playing experience.
USBA president Duane Jenkins says, 'Announcing local tryouts gives us a prime opportunity for us to look closely at local talent and make the selection of players easy for our teams. We want our fans to be able to become familiar with the players and coaches and quite simply, the players and coaches will have ample time for players to select a team of his choice.'
The league has developed a comprehensive package for the coaches. Players are paid $350.00 per week. Players also receive housing arrangements, when needed and a daily meal at Golden Corral Buffet Restaurant. As a bonus, players will receive compensation for sponsor speaking engagements and sponsorship sales.
According to the league, each player candidate should submit his resume or film to kennethgreen@usbaball.com and usba@usbaball.com . All candidates will receive a response. 'We expect a huge response and I suggest any candidate wishing to be considered should submit their resume no later than March 15, 2010,' said USBA Vice President Basketball Operation Kenneth Green. 'We're very excited about the upcoming season. None of our teams have players in place and this is a great opportunity for an aspiring individual who has the propensity to lead and succeed.'

Atlanta, Ga. (March 11, 2010) --- 'I'm extremely pumped about this upcoming basketball season,' said USBA president, Duane Allen Jenkins. 'Our first season is set to go and our future in the world of basketball looks very bright.' The United States Basketball Association (USBA) today made public the final roster of teams, along with the teams home arena and gymnasiums. This new minor division basketball league was originally set to open its doors in 2009. The league will field fourteen teams in three divisions, spread over nine southern states. League sources states 'Timing is everything, particularly in business, the time is right to begin our inaugural basketball campaign.' The USBA originated in July 2007. The league was born out of an effort to expand the now inactive United States Basketball League (USBL). The USBL contracted Jenkins in September 2006 to acquire his assistance to develop basketball teams in the Southeast United States. Jenkins's efforts were thwarted when the USBL ceased operations. 'The USBL decision to shut down took me by complete surprise, however after every forest fire, new life assuredly flourishes,' said Jenkins. 'The USBA will be fruitful and multiply, to evoke our belief's.'
The league has 14 teams in three divisions, The teams are spread out over nine southern states and play a 30 game regular season followed by the leagues championship tournament. The USBA local team tryouts will be held on March 20, 2010. The season will open on Wednesday April 7, 2010. 'I'm real comfortable in the leagues stability,' said Jenkins, and 'I feel we can make a real impact on the local charitable organizations in each of our teams cities.' The league has ties with the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots, Feeding America, Boys and Girls Club of America and local churchs. During the past Holiday season the USBA enlisted the help of the Feeding America and the U.S.M.C. to conduct a series of basketball games to collect toys, clothing and food for the needy. According to reports filed, seven of the leagues cities gave away prizes to fans that contributed toys, clothing and food.
