That set the stage for what was a terrific battle for the championship. 'I'm glad it's (the season) over,' said league VP Ozzie Denson, whose Wranglers came so close. 'The league has earned credibility as we have completed the season.' CEO Mac Claire offered this: 'A goal has been reached in completing our first season. While we lost two teams as the season begun, the six remaining teams played the entire season, minus a few cancellations that were unavoidable. 'This should be a feel good moment for the league, but we need to improve upon the things that we didn't do well so that we have stronger teams next season. We can't rest on our laurels. 'Overall though, this was a good inaugural season.' Congratulations go out to all of the players, coaches, owners, and other staff who made the season successful.

They beat the Arkansas Warriors, 97-91 to earn the right to play the Central Texas Stars in the UBL Championship Game tonight. The Stars upset the Texas Wranglers earlier in the day, 132-128. The mighty have fallen.

A small group believed that the Soul never did deserve to be in position to play for a championship, and perhaps they were grudgingly invited to play after being told they were the fifth place team in a four team playoff. The Hoopsters couldn't play though, and that left a void which the Soul filled.
Addison, TX - There has been an unexpected twist already today.
The Texas Wranglers with a home court advantage fell in overtime to the Central Texas Stars, 132-128.
The Wranglers had a 60-43 advantge at the half and the expectation certainly had to be that they would be waiting to play either San Antonio or Arkansas, the Game #2 contestants. But the Stars climbed back to within 111-108 with just over 3::00 in the 4th.

San Antonio is the likely choice to replace Oklahoma City who will be unable to participate. Many of the Hoopsters will be taking part in the NBDL tryouts, leaving the team short of players. While it would hve been great to have them in the playoffs, the UBL is proud of the Hoopsters who have the opportunity to advance their careers.
