UBA News:
11/21/2016

GIE Maile Matrix signed experienced 37-year old forward Erron Maxey (6'6''-F-78, college: Providence). He played last summer at Toowoomba Mountaineers in Australian QBL. In 16 games he had very impressive stats: 26.6ppg, 12.3rpg, 3.1apg and 1.0spg. The last season Maxey played at Bohemios Montevideo in Uruguayan LUB where in 17 games he recorded also remarkable stats: 19.6ppg, 7.9rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg. Quite impressive season as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Uruguay LUB Honorable Mention. Maxey was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Mitchell Americas Cup 1st Team in 2016.

His team made it to the Australian QBL Semifinals in 2015.

He is quite experienced player. Maxey has played in ten different countries on four different continents (Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Argentina (Atenas and Quimsa), Chile (Universidad de Concepcion), Colombia (Barrancabermeja Ciudad Futuro), Finland, Hungary, Japan (Niigata Albirex), Mexico (Santos), New Zealand (Giants and Saints), Puerto Rico and Uruguay (Union Atletica and Nacional).

Maxey attended Providence College until 2001 and it will be his 16th (!!!) season as a professional player.

He could be described: All-around outstanding athlete with a good outside shot and great moves to the hoop...Strong rebounder who uses his outstanding leaping ability to beat bigger players to the hoop...Has great quickness and basketball skills.

Erron is an extremely athletic and hard working small forward who can knock down the open perimeter jumpshot as well as take his man off the dribble. Erron has tremendous moves to the hoop and utilizes his amazing jumping ability and quickness to beat his man to the rim. Erron is unique in that he is also able to dominate bigger players in the post when needed. At Providence College, one of the top basketball teams in the prestigious Big East Conference, Erron excelled while being forced to play out of position at the power forward spot. Erron natural skills are well suited for the small forward spot where Errona‚ĄĘs ceaseless work ethic, unparalleled athleticism and versatility make him perfectly suited for the NBA where he will excel as a small forward.
