David Walls Report

A potential rival for the Southern Conference will hit the court during the ninth season of the Universal Basketball Association this winter. The UBA announced its newest expansion franchise would be in the Georgia Vipers, which includes Atlanta, Midtown, Buckhead and its surrounding townships, as the UBA Board of Governors voted unanimously last week to accept the application of the new ownership group. The Georgia Vipers was purchased by coaching legend Antonious Barnes .

"We are about trying to live out our dreams by becoming more hands on involved with the community and also trying to get better financially stable", said owner Barnes.

The UBA was founded in 2009 and has become a power in the minor leagues. The Vipers team will be the sixth team in the Southern Division, with GIE Maile Matrix, Georgia PRIME along with Atlanta Legends the natural rival. The Southern Conference has dominated the UBA for the pass nine years. The South has won 8 of the 9 UBA titles along with every all-star game. The UBA also continues to build and expand internationally.

"I came to the UBA because its considered the best program in Atlanta and we like to compete with the very best", said Barnes. I like the way the league is ran and all the international placement that goes on with the company.

The Ballers will open their season December 3, 2016 in the 4th Annual UBA Classic Presented by Chick Fil A. The game will be covered on TSW Sports (www.tswone.com).
