ATLANTA GA, June 27, 2016 - Texas Cyclones Head Coach Cynthia F. Guillory, whose team finished a league-best 15-1 to complete the most successful regular season in franchise history, is the recipient of the 2016 WUBA Coach of the Year Award, the WUBA announced today. This marks the first time a rookie coach has won this award.
Guillory received 7 votes from a national panel of 15 owners and coaches. Southern Generals Head Coach Jared Johnson finished second with 6 votes and Joe Redd of the Georgia Disciples was third with one. Jared Johnson has won 3 of the 5 WUBA Coach of the Year awards.
In Guillory's first season at the helm, the Cyclones secured the No. 1 overall seed in the WUBA Playoffs presented by Chick Fil A for the first time in team history.
"We are proud to have coach Guillory in the WUBA", said Basketball Director Travis McAvene . She deserves this award and proved she is an elite coach in the league.

Save the Date / 1st to 3rd June: The Mediterranean Cup Of Champions in Toulouse
For the first time, the Mediterranean Cup of Champions will stop over in France. After Barcelona for men (May 24 to 28, 2018), Toulouse Metropole Basketetropole Basketball, in collaboration with Trinity United , will organize this international basketball event, female version, in Toulouse, from June 1st to 3rd, 2018, at the Petit Palais des Sports ( Compans).
The talent level is lining up for this 5th Annual event in Toulouse, France.
This summer there will be six clubs invited from hosting France, Portugal, Spain, Malta, Lebanon and the USA. There is not cap on import rules for all clubs.
Headlining this event will be local favorite Toulouse Metropole Basket (TMB) led by head coach Xavier Noguera . They are currently ranked 3rd in the LF2 in France. Returning from the USA will be coach Kevin Franklin with his Havok ball club. Franklin is apart of the UBA brand that won the cup last summer led by Kristina King (180-G-92, college: Richmond) and Denesha Stallworth (191-F-92, college: Kentucky, agency: LBM Management). For the first time in the event a middle eastern club with join. Chabibeh Sporting Club of Lebanon (WLBL) first division. The club will be coached by J.D. Barnes .

Toulouse, France 3/13/2018
The Cleveland Havok of the WUBA (USA) will play in the 2018 Liga Mediterranean Cup hosted in Toulouse, France.
The WUBA and Toulouse, France made a joint announcement on Tuesday.
The WUBA have agreed to send two clubs of choice to the popular European event featuring teams from all over the world. The Havok will be the first selected based of a board vote Monday night.
Last season, the GIE Lady Matrix won the 2017 Mediterranean Cup led by star point guard Kristina King (180-G-92, college: Richmond) She was later named MVP while averaging just over 26 points per game.
The Havok will be coached by Kevin Franklin . Franklin is the owner of Team Havok in the UBA along with the women in the WUBA. He was last selected to be an assistant coach for the USA National Select team for the 2012 William Jones Cup. That summer coach Franklin won his first silver medal. He would later coach in the Dominican Republic along with Barcelona, Spain where he helped the GIE Lady Matrix win last years Cup championship.

The Havok have agreed to sign co-captains Ayesha Barkley (188-C/F-87, college: Stetson, agency: Gamble Sports Management) (Germany) and Iasia Hemingway (180-F-89, college: Syracuse) (Australia) after they finish their respected seasons. Barkley a 6'3 Center attended Stetson University. She has played in over 9 countries in her career and was apart of the 2017 Cup championship last season. Hemingway attended Syracuse University where she received All-Big East honors. She was later drafted by the New York Liberty.
The 2018 Mediterranean Cup will take place May 31- June 4 2018 in Toulouse, France. Teams invited include France, Lebanon, Portugal, Jordan, Spain and of course the US. Local power house club Toulouse will be hosting the event. For more information follow @ https://www.facebook.com/MCOCEurope/
