David Walls Reports
5/16/2016

Atlanta, GA (TSW Sports Network) - Jermaine Barnes (6'4''-G/F-83, college: Point, GA, agency: Gamble Sports Management) returned from a year absence and willed the Matrix to their latest win, as the superstar hit a three- pointer with 2.3 seconds remaining to boost GIE over the Spartans, 89-87, at Dominique Wilkins Gym.

Barnes scored 15, including the team's final nine points, to finish the contest and give the Matrix their eleventh win to lock a playoff spot. He missed the previous season with a career-ending leg injury and played in his first game since January 5, 2015 against Cleveland. "It felt great to hit the shot", said Barnes. I don't want everyone to get any ideas; I just want to take it day by day.

He is currently average 26.5ppg in just 6 games this season. He decided to sit the remainder of the season due to a set back this season. Barnes would later announce his retirement at the 2016 UBA All-Star Game. "I just wanted a chance to be with all the guys one last time", said Barnes. SO many of our fans have supported me and I wanted to leave on a high note.

With that big win; the Matrix are now locked into a playoff spot this summer. Prior to last night; the Matrix have last four games in a row. Sunday proved a much different result for the Matrix, who also received 20 points and 5 rebounds from Freddie Williams (6'2''-G-87, college: Clayton St., agency: Gamble Sports Management). Calvin O'Neil (6'5''-PG-85, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: Gamble Sports Management) contributed 15 points and 8 rebounds before fouling out late in the fourth quarter.

Bernard Parks (6'3''-F, college: Point, GA) ended with 19 points for the Spartans, who lost for the second time in five games.
