Southern Generals 69 Atlanta Legends 77

The Southern Generals fell to the Atlanta Legends 77-69 Saturday night at the Dominique Wilkins Gym . Tony Omotayo (6'5''-G/F-85, college: Ft.Valley St.) had a game-high 20 points and 8 rebounds. The Generals jumped out to a 14-2 run to start the game behind hot shooting from UBA Legends Will De La Cruz (6'2''-G-80, college: Point, GA), but the Legends would storm back as they finished the opening quarter with a 29-26 lead. Omotayo scored 11 points in the quarter alone. Generals got outscored 27-22 in the second frame and trailed 56-48 at halftime. The Legends would then finish the Generals off. Mike Sloan (6'5''-G/F-84, college: Clayton St.) also added 20 points and 5 assists in the win. The Southern Generals were led by Will De La Cruz. He finished the game with 17 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists in a losing effort.

The Legends are now holding on to the final playoff spot in the Southern Conference.

Next weekend three Atlanta Legend players will participate in the 2017 UBA All-star Game. The Legends are the only team besides the GIE Maile Matrix to have more than three players represent their respected teams in the game. Brian Kelly (6'8''-F-85, college: Clayton St.) is currently leading the UBA in rebounds with 12.1 per game. On top of his great play on the board; Kelly is adding 11 points and 1.4 blocks per game. Also in the front line is Tony Omotayo. Omotayo is averaging 17.4 points per game along with 7.8 rebounds. He is the team leader in steals with 1.8 per contest. The 2015 reigning MVP Mike Sloan cap off the Legends backcourt. Sloan is currently fifth in the league in scoring (22.3ppg) along with 5.1 assists per game.

The Indiana Generals recently accepted invitation to compete this summer at 2017 Jamaica International Cup in Kingston, Jamaica. This event will include National Teams from Jamaica, Aruba and Trinidad. There will also be select teams from the US and Bahamas. Basquete Blumenau/APAB (Liga Ouro) added to their roster American guard Deonta Stocks (6'1''-G-88, college: W.Georgia). He just played at Georgia Spartans of the UBA. Stocks also spent pre-season at Boras Basket (Basketligan) in Swedish. Two years ago he was drafted by Sioux Falls Skyforce (D-League) in second round (33rd overall). UBA Signing 3/27/2017 Halcones de Ciudad Obregon (Mexico), agreed terms with American guard Glen Rice Jr. (6'6''-G/F-91, college: Georgia Tech) He started the season at Georgia Spartans (UBA) in the U.S. He was currently ranked 3rd in the UBA (scoring) with an average of 21.4 points per game.
