Atlanta, GA

Pavos de Nuevo Casas Grandes (Mexico) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old American Center Desmond Blue (6'11''-C-88, college: Lee).

Blue last played in Switzerland for Union Neuchatel. Before playing in Europe Blue stared in the UBA for the GIE Maile Matrix. He was named Usbasket.com All-UBA 2nd Team and named to the UBA All-Star game. He would later join teammates Jermaine Barnes and Freddie Williams for Team USA in the 34th Annual William Jones Cup in Taiwan. Blue average just over 5.0ppg for Team USA in just 14.8 mpg.

After joining the UBA Blue has played in the Dominican Republic, NBA Dleague, Switzerland and now Mexico. Blue will rejoin the GIE Maile Matrix when he returns from Mexico.

Barnes and Oxley Lead Matrix to 100-97 Comeback Win Over Vipers - 3 days ago
David Walls Reports 2/26/2017 Jermaine Barnes (6'4''-G/F-83, college: Point, GA, agency: Gamble Sports Management) had his first triple double of the season recording 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Matrix. It marked his first triple since the 2011-12 UBA season. After such a big night you would think Barnes would be the topic, but a third quarter explosion (18 points) by Anthony Oxley (5'9''-PG-86, college: Mount Aloysius) sparked the Matrix comeback. Anthony Oxley added 3...   [read more]

David Walls Reports 2/26/2017 Spartans coach Antonio Brown wasn't exactly thrilled with his team's shootout win over the Southern Generals on Saturday night. "I didn't think we played well at all," said Brown, disappointed by his club's defensive effort as both squads set season scoring highs in Spartan's 100-110 victory. Bernard Parks (6'3''-SG-90, college: Point, GA), who led the Spartans with 27 points and 10 assists, also acknowledged the Spartans lack of focus,"We have to do better...   [read more]
