Freddie Williams (6'2''-G-87, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: Clayton St.) added 13 points and 8 assists for the Matrix, who outscored the Spartans 10-5 in the final 1:10. Barnes and Williams came through scoring the final 10 points to seal the games. The Spartans had an impressive debut dominating the 2nd half but coming up short. Ransom Antoine (6'4''-F-82, college: Columbus St.) was the bright spot for the Spartans scoring 12 points and a team best 10 rebounds. Iman Walcott (6'6''-F/G-88, college: Belhaven) and Antoine Byrd both added 13 in a losing effort.

Barnes who has been sidelined with a shoulder injure was expected to join the the team in February but decided at game time to suite up. "I felt great out there in the first half", said Barnes. But I'm still out of shape and I need to get in better shape if I plan to help my team. Barnes scored 20 of his 28 points all in the first half but struggled late as the game got tighter. "I just need to do a better job late in the game", I'm just happy Freddie and I could pull us out.
