The Iraqi Division 1 announced today that Al Karkh guard Mychal Kearse (6'5''-G-83, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: Mt.St.Mary's) (195-G-83, agency: Gamble Sports Management, college: Mt.St.Mary's) has been named the Iraqi's D1 Player of the Month for December.

Kearse averaged 18.9 points, 7.5 assists, 5.4 rebounds, 2.20 steals and 1 block while shooting 49.1 percent from the floor. He scored at least 20 points six times during the month, including 3 game handing out double-figure assists. He led the team in scoring, assists and steals 9 times each, in minutes on eight occasions, in blocks three times and in rebounds once. While helping guide Al Karkh to an 8-2 (.800) March record, Kearse posted game highs of 27 points and 12 assists against Al Jaysh Army on December 14 while grabbing six rebounds and recording a team-high four steals. He then tallied a team-high 24 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, vs. the Al Shurtah.

Among league leaders this season, the two-time 2013 Iraqi Player of the Week recipient ranks third in steals (2.20 spg), third in points (18.9 ppg), second in assists (7.5), 10th in blocks (1.06).

Basquete Blumenau/APAB (Liga Ouro) added to their roster American guard Deonta Stocks (6'1''-G-88, college: W.Georgia). He just played at Georgia Spartans of the UBA. Stocks also spent pre-season at Boras Basket (Basketligan) in Swedish. Two years ago he was drafted by Sioux Falls Skyforce (D-League) in second round (33rd overall).
