Cleveland Havok strengthened their roster with addition of 24-year old Nigerian ex-international guard David Tairu (6'3''-G-86, agency: Pro One Sports, college: Texas Tech). He played most recent at in Canada for the Moncton Miracles. Tairu also played in Europe for KR of Iceland. In 10 games he averaged 21.4 points per game which ranked 4th in the league.
In 2011 Tairu was voted Eurobasket.com All-ESL Most Valuable Player. Tairu led Team Dubai to the Eurobasket Summer league championship while averaging 23.4ppg.
"We are very excited about adding David, said head coach Kevin Franklin . We look for him to be an impact player admittedly.
Tairu attended Texas Tech University. In 32 games he averaged 10.0ppg, 2.8rpg, FGP: 43.5%, 3PT: 39.8%, FT: 75.8%. Before TTU he stared at South Plains JC. Tairu was named 1st team all- conference while leading his team to it's first NJCAA National Title.

Donnie Lee (6'4''-SG) lead Dayton with 16 and Ben McGriff (6'5''-G) with 11. The Diesel added some much needed fire power by getting ex Louisville point guard Chris Jones (6'2''-G) and Louisville forward veteran Nate Johnson.
