Former GIE Maile Matrix standout John Cantrell (6'2''-G, college: Chicago St.) has agreed to terms with JuveCaserta (Italy) for the 2012-2013 season.

Cantrell was the first overall selection in the 2011 UBA draft. He was selected by the GIE Maile Matrix and helped led them to their 3rd UBA title. In 20 games with GIE Cantrell averaged an impressive 20.1ppg along with 4.3apg. He was later named Usbasket.com All-UBA Rookie of the Year for his efforts.

Before joining the Matrix Cantrell played in Qatar for Al Arabi Club Doha where he was the top scorer of the league. He also playing in Lebanon, Sweden and the Ukraine.
