David Walls Report:
11/8/2012

TULSA, Okla. Former UBA standout James Justice (5'10''-PG-89, college: Martin Methodist) was one of nine players added to the training camper roster of the NBA Developmental League's Tulsa 66ers, the team announced Wednesday morning.

Justice joined the UBA for the 2012 Playoffs. He signed with the GIE Maile Matrix and helped led them to their 3rd championship. Justice was later named Finals Co-MVP while he averaged 20.1ppg.

After a great playoff run in the UBA Justice joined the USA National Team for the William Jones Cup. In 9 games Justice averaged 10.0ppg and 2.3spg.

During his two years at Martin Methodist, Justice was a two-time NAIA All-American and was named the 2011 TranSouth Player and Newcomer of the Year, averaging 16.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.6 steals per contest in 71 career games. As the team's starting point guard, Justice led the RedHawks to the school's most-successful two year stretch in program history, guiding the RedHawks to a 62-10 record and two NAIA National Tournament berths, including a berth in the national semifinal in 2010-11.

Justice also received national acclaim after winning the 2012 College Basketball Slam Dunk Contest in New Orleans. During the contest, the 5-foot-9 Justice competed against and defeated dunkers from other NCAA Division I universities, including Clemson, Duke, Buffalo and Wichita State.

Justice receives the training camp invite after participating during Tulsa's open tryouts on Oct. 21 and 22. The 66ers will have an opportunity to add nine more players to their roster during Friday's 2012 NBA D-League Draft, before opening their 2012-13 season Nov. 23 against the Texas Legends.

The 66ers are the D-League affiliate for the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder.

Barnes and Oxley Lead Matrix to 100-97 Comeback Win Over Vipers - 1 day ago
David Walls Reports 2/26/2017 Jermaine Barnes (6'4''-G/F-83, college: Point, GA, agency: Gamble Sports Management) had his first triple double of the season recording 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Matrix. It marked his first triple since the 2011-12 UBA season. After such a big night you would think Barnes would be the topic, but a third quarter explosion (18 points) by Anthony Oxley (5'9''-PG-86, college: Mount Aloysius) sparked the Matrix comeback. Anthony Oxley added 3...   [read more]

Parks 27 points leads Spartans over unbeaten Generals 110-100 - 1 day ago
David Walls Reports 2/26/2017 Spartans coach Antonio Brown wasn't exactly thrilled with his team's shootout win over the Southern Generals on Saturday night. "I didn't think we played well at all," said Brown, disappointed by his club's defensive effort as both squads set season scoring highs in Spartan's 100-110 victory. Bernard Parks (6'3''-SG-90, college: Point, GA), who led the Spartans with 27 points and 10 assists, also acknowledged the Spartans lack of focus,"We have to do better...   [read more]
