The PrimeTime Players extended their winning streak to six games on Saturday evening by defeating the Fayetteville Crossover 123-114. PrimeTime was missing four players but found a way to keep the Crossover at bay despite their many attempts at a comeback throughout the game.

Brian Mobley (6'6''-G/F-87, college: Johnson C. Smith) and Terrell Smith (6'4''-G) had 30 points apiece for PrimeTime and three other players had double-doubles. James Dillard (6'6''-F-87, college: Johnson C. Smith) finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds, Malachai Jones had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Thomas Pfaff (6'8''-F-87, college: Lipscomb) registered 16 points and 10 rebounds.

PrimeTime played a fundamentally sound game to make up for the absence of a large chunk of their offense including the team's leading scorer, Antonio Houston. The Players out-rebounded the Crossover 49-39 and committed only five turnovers in the game.

The Crossover cut the PrimeTime lead to single digits on a few occasions in the fourth quarter but Smith and Jones came up big in the clutch, with Smith scoring 11 points and Jones scoring nine to account for all but eight of the team's fourth quarter points.

Victor Street was key in distributing the ball throughout the game, finishing with seven assists and seven rebounds to go along with his 13 points.

Fayetteville was led by Jamel Carpenter, who finished with 27 points. Deshawn McLean turned in a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Mark Jones and Brandon Streeter notched 24 and 22 points respectively.

PrimeTime will be back in action next Saturday at the Pointe at 5pm against the Queen City Express.

Bull City Legacy outgun Cary Invasion - 10 months ago
As is tradition, arch rivals the Cary Invasion and the Bull City Legacy opened their respective seasons last Saturday, this time in Durham at Voyager Academy and, in what has become their tradition, both teams gave those attending a show. These two teams really don't care for each other much, but that they do respect each other's game is apparent. This due, in part, to both teams carrying players on their rosters who used to play for the other team. While, too, many of them have been team...   [read more]
