SAN ANGELO,TX - The TPBL is doing its best to expand and grow. The 1st step was to put together a tough league where players can get looked at, move on to higher paying leagues and make a little money. After 8yrs of MENS PRO BASKETBALL IN TEXAS, now its time for the ladies to play!!! Starting in June of 2009 the TEXAS PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE will have a womens pro division. The womens division will have a first year schedule that includes 12 regular season games ( 6 home / 6 away), with the top 4 teams playing for the TPBL crown. Here is more WOMENS TPBL info.

'TEXAS OPEN MENS/WOMENS NATIONAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT IS THE BEST TOURNAMENT IN THE STATE' says TPBL league owner Chris Cardenas . Theres gonna be great competition, you'll make new friends, meet new coaches and you have a chance to take home $2000 for first place. A hospitality party for all players and coaches will be held saturday night August 30th to help introduce all teams, and by doing this we hope all teams can stay in contact about other tournaments, leagues and any other hoops info. here is the tournament information.....

CYPRESS, TX- will be the new location of a new Texas pro league team. John Carswell, owner/founder , of the Cypress, Tx Synergy is very happy to have the opportunity to show the state of Texas how much talent his team is bringing to the table. The synergy who played out of Houston,Tx last season as a floater team in which they played in 4 very contested TPBL exhibition games is ready to go a full season. In fact look for the Cypress Synergy to make a run at the TPBL title.

KILLEEN,TX - Will be the new cite for the central texas areas newest pro basketball team. The CEN-TEX BLACKHAWKS are latest team to join the Texas Professional Basketball League which will be in its 9th yr of play in 2009. Team owner, Karron Taylor, is excited about the opportunity to showcase his team and giving his city someone to cheer for in the 2009 TPBL season. 'im excited about the Blackhawks entry into the league for the 2009 season. I know Karron as a great competitor, and student of the game. He'll make a great owner, as well as a player for the Blackhawks organization' says Chris Cardenas TPBL league owner.

After 2 yrs of playing as a floater team in the TPBL, head coach Arturo (Turo) Zuniga thinks its time to showcase his team to Texas. HOUSTON P.T.S. (PLAY TO SCORE) will be joining the league for the 2009 season and fully expects to make a run at the league title.

SAN ANGELO, TX - The TPBL for the second year will be sponsoring and hosting one of the biggest high school basketball tournament series in the state. The 2ND ANNUAL WEST TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SHOOT OUT has two divisions BOYS & GIRLS and all classifications , 1A-5A , are welcome to this big event. Last years champion DEL RIO, TX will be returning to the tournament and is looking to repeat as champion in the boys division. Here is more info on the tournament :

The Chaps had another tough run at a championship but came up short to the defending TPBL champs the Midland Heat. Alll players are asked to bring your own work out gear and be prepared to work out twice in one day.
