Last years champion DEL RIO, TX will be returning to the tournament and is looking to repeat as champion in the boys division.

With steady guard play from super quick guards Charles Tatum and Ray Williams (23 points each ) the Heat pulled away from the San Angelo Chaparrals to take game 2 and the TPBL title with a 95-76 decision.

MIDLAND HEAT RUN AWAY WITH GAME 1 : 2008 TPBL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
Midland , Tx -- Charles Tatum , the 2007 TPBL MVP and guard of the Midland Heat , refused to let the San Angelo Chaparrals come into their gym and take game 1. Tatum and the Heat came out firing on all cylinders in game 1 of the TPBL championship series winning 103 - 86. Tatum ended the game with 26 points and went 5 for 8 behind the 3 point arch. Ray williams and Chauncey Ephraim were also big scoring threats against the short handed Chaparrals.
