Anthony Jackson (196-G-89) had an amazing evening in the last round for Dubois D. and that's him to receive a Usbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 11. The 27-year old guard had the game-high 23 points adding seven rebounds and three assists for Dubois D. in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Washington W. (#6, 3-8) 98-95. Dubois D. maintains the 8th position in PBL PBL. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Dubois D. have already lost 16 games and recorded just one victory. In the team's last game Jackson had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Dubois D.'s top player in his first season with the team. Florida Institute of Technology graduate has very impressive stats this year. Jackson is in league's top in points (3rd best: 23.3ppg), rebounds (4th best: 9.0rpg), assists (5th best: 4.5apg) and averages solid 61.2% FGP.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old power forward Gerard DeVaughn (206-F/C-88) of second-ranked Kentucky M.. DeVaughn impressed basketball fans with 26 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Kentucky M. lost that game 110-115 to slightly higher-ranked Rochester R. (#1, 12-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Kentucky M. still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. It was just his team's 3rd loss this season, while they won 12 other games. DeVaughn is well-known by Kentucky M. fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. Stillman College alumni DeVaughn played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
The third best performed player last round was Bryant Osei (195-F/G-90) of Washington W. (#6). Osei scored 23 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Osei's great performance Washington W. lost 95-98 to slightly lower-ranked Dubois D. (#8, 1-16). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Washington W. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Osei he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Osei has individually a great season in PBL. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.7rpg (9th best).
