Ben Vozzola
Ben Vozzola (198-G-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's leader Kentucky M. and that's him to receive a Usbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 24-year old guard had the game-high 26 points adding eight rebounds for Kentucky M. in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Jamestown J. (#5, 5-5) with 45-point margin 137-92. It allowed Kentucky M. to consolidate first place in the PBL PBL. Kentucky M. has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 9-1. In the team's last game Vozzola had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Ben Vozzola averages this season 11.5ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 31-year old point guard Anthony Jackson (6'5''-G-89, college: Florida Tech) of Dubois D.. Jackson impressed basketball fans with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Dubois D. lost that game 100-106 to slightly higher-ranked Washington W. (#7, 2-4). Dubois D. are still at the very bottom. 11 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Jackson is a newcomer at Dubois D. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Michael Oblitey of Washington W. (#7). Oblitey showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Washington W., leading his team to a 106-100 win against Dubois D. (#8, 0-11). The chances of Washington W. not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Oblitey could try to bring Washington W.'s a little bit higher in the standings. Oblitey has a very solid season. In 6 games in PBL he scored 16.2ppg. He also has 4.5rpg and FGP: 50.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Julius Francis (211-C) of Dubois D. - 20 points, 19 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Oswinn Hines (C) of Jamestown J. - 22 points and 7 rebounds
6. Mike Crain (191-G-84) of Kentucky M. - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Cordaryl Ballard (196-G-87) of Ohio Bootleggers - 30 points and 2 rebounds
8. Maurice Greene (F) of Chautauqua H. - 7 points, 17 rebounds and 2 assists
9. C Symonds) of Washington W. - 22 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Geno Green (196-F/G-88) of Chautauqua H. - 14 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Glisson becomes sole owner of the Lake Michigan Admirals once again - 1 month ago
As of Monday, August 7th, 2017, Chris Glisson will officially be the sole owner of the Lake Michigan Admirals once again. The James family, who had major plans to move the team to Warren, Michigan, had a huge setback when a major investor group decided that they were not going to be able to help this upcoming season. This put the James family in a financial pinch and that's when Glisson and Mr. and Mrs. James had a meeting to decide what the next step was going to be. Glisson made a very...   [read more]
