The No. 17 Neumann University men's basketball team defeated Immaculata University 93-82 on Wednesday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action. Darian Barnes (6'9''-F) led the Knights with 23 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks. Carl Wallace (6'4''-F) added 19 points and 17 rebounds, 12 of which were offensive. DeShawn Lowman (6'1''-G) tallied 14 points and nine boards. Billy Cassidy (5'9''-PG) added 13 points. The teams remained close during the first part of the game. The Knights had two five-point leads, each coming off of three-pointers. With a 16-11 Neumann lead, the Mighty Macs scored five straight points to knot the score at 16. Immaculata continued its run, eventually building a 25-17 advantage. Neumann answered with a run of its own and tied the game at 28 with 7:12 on the clock. Each team again went on mini runs. A three-pointer by Cassidy with 4:28 left before halftime put the Knights in the lead, 35-33, this time for good. Over the four minutes before halftime, Neumann built up its lead and took a 50-43 lead into halftime. Three minutes into the second half, Immaculata had chipped its way back to within one, 55-54. Midway through the half, and Neumann holding a 66-63 lead, the Knights went on a 15-5 run to take a 13 points advantage, 81-68, capped by a layup by Wallace. The Knights would hold a double-digit lead for the rest of regulation. Neumann's biggest lead came with 1:53 remaining on a tip-inn by Matt O'Keefe, 91-75. Neumann (19-1, 13-0 CSAC) hits the road for the next two games, beginning at Centenary on Saturday. Action gets underway at 4:00 PM.
