Dowling College Closes it's doors - Jun 6, 2016

New York- Dowling College of the East Coast Conference NCAA Division II announced that it's closing it's doors due to financial strains that the college has endure over the past several years.

The players in the program are allow to transfer to any NCAA institutions without paying the transfer rule penalty.

Head coach John Mateyko and his staff will be helping players transfer, as well the East Coast Conference along with Molloy College athletics have open an line for Dowling college players who are seeking advice and help in finding a new school. The East Coast Conference members school will have the advantage to recruit members of the Downling College Golden Lions.

The news of the college closing came as a surprise to many and the players and fellow students where made aware last week that the college was closing it's doors.

This is the second college around the country that has shut it's doors in recent weeks, the other Burlington College in Vermont.

The Skidmore College men's basketball team led wire-to-wire, opening the home portion of the schedule with a dominating 88-62 victory over Plattsburgh, in non-conference action at the Williamson Sports Center Monday night.
