RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Sophomore forward Terrell Spaulding (Paterson, N.J./Eastside) scored 16 of his game-high 28 points in the second half to help Felician University hold onto what was once a 22-point lead and earn an 85-79 non-conference men's basketball victory over visiting Franklin Pierce University on Sunday afternoon at Job Gymnasium.

Felician (4-3) has won four consecutive games for the first time since a six-game spurt in January and February of 2011.

Spaulding made 11 of 17 field-goal attempts, including 4 out of 6 from behind the three-point arc. He also pulled down a season-high 15 rebounds for his third "double-double" in seven starts. Junior forward Mike McDevitt (Cumberland, Maine/Greely) shot 10 for 15 from the floor and turned in 23 points and six rebounds for Franklin Pierce (2-4).

The Golden Falcons made 11 three-pointers, shooting 46 percent from distance. The Ravens, meanwhile, were 5 for 25 on three-point attempts.

Felician matched its largest lead of the game, 46-24, following two Zamir Wright (Newark, N.J./University) free throws with four minutes, 55 seconds, remaining in the first half. A late running jumper by senior Bryant Webb (Parlin, N.J./Sayreville War Memorial) allowed the hosts to bring a 53-36 edge into the intermission.

The Golden Falcons were ahead by 19 points with 18:02 left in regulation time, only to see the Ravens embark on a 13-2 run over the next four-plus minutes of game time. Felician's Gjaimeir Stanford (Wilmington, Del./Howard) halted the uprising with a conventional three-point play at the 13:14 mark for a 65-54 advantage, and a Spaulding jumper moved the spread back to 14 points at 9:52.

FPU had one more run left in it, scoring the game's next nine points to pull to within 70-65 at the 7:21 mark. Four times down the stretch, the Ravens sliced their deficit to four points, but never came within one possession of the Golden Falcons. Trailing 81-75, FPU forced consecutive Golden Falcon turnovers with just over a minute left, but misfired on jump shots each time.

Junior Jamar Redmond (Roselle, N.J./Abraham Clark) totaled 14 points for Felician, and Stanford finished with 13 points. The Ravens received 17 points, six assists and four blocks from senior Donte Gittens (Hartford, Conn./The Master's School), while senior Matt Banton (Brooklyn, N.Y./Transit Tech) scored 14 points with four assists.
