NAMPA, Idaho - Crusader men's basketball coach Scott Flemming capped his summer work with some flair - NCAA Division I flair to be precise.

Northwest Nazarene's head man wrapped up a strong offseason by adding a transfer each from two NCAA Division I powerhouse basketball programs, signing senior-to-be Kaileb Rodriguez from the University of Nevada Reno, and junior-to-be Haroldas Saprykinas from the University of California Irvine.

The duo will join junior-college transfers Maurice Jones and Jalen Shepard, and incoming freshmen Olamilekan "Spider" Adetunji, Samuel Roth and Zac Furgerson, on the court for NNU this winter. That gives the Crusaders seven new faces for the upcoming season, which begins on Friday, Nov. 11, when Northwest Nazarene hosts Simpson (Calif.) for Homecoming at 8 p.m.

Here is a look at the newest members of the Crusader men's basketball team:

Kaileb Rodriguez (6'9''-F, college: California) (NEVADA, RENO/SHERIDAN COLLEGE/CALIFORNIA/THUNDER RIDGE HS IN DENVER, COLO.) 7931
Kaileb Rodriguez

A recent graduate from Mountain West powerhouse Nevada, the 6-foot-9 forward heads to Idaho with one year of eligibility remaining and will be an instant impact player inside for the Crusaders.

Rodriguez played in 61 games during his two years at Reno, scoring 64 points, grabbing 116 rebounds and blocking 17 shots for the Wolf Pack after transferring from Sheridan College where he played one season. He also spent a season at California where he redshirted as a freshman for the Pac 12 Golden Bears.

"Kaileb is just what we needed at this stage of building our program," Flemming said. "He is a veteran post player that has competed at a very high level and possesses strong leadership skills.

"He will not only make an impact on the court, but he will be good for our younger players, especially our young post players," NNU's second-year coach added. "He is a physical player who will bring intensity when he plays.

"He will particularly be a force on the defensive end and on the boards."

Haroldas Saprykinas (6'1''-G-95) (CALIFORNIA, IRVINE/WEST OAKS ACADEMY IN ORLANDO, FLA.) 7932
Haroldas Saprykinas

A 6-foot-2 shooting guard from Klaipeda, Lithuania, Saprykinas played in 45 games at Cal Irvine over two seasons, scoring 77 points, grabbing 21 rebounds and shooting 37.8 percent (17-of-41) from beyond the 3-point arc.

After playing his senior season of high school ball at West Oaks Academy in Florida, Saprykinas played in 16 games for the Big West's Anteaters as a true freshman and in 29 games this past winter.

"Harry is an experienced player both internationally and at the college level," NNU's coach said. "He has been part of a great program at UC Irvine.

"His main strength is shooting the basketball," Flemming added. "He has some toughness about him and really competes.

"We are anticipating him making an impact on the perimeter."
