Duke Transfer Sean Obi Chooses Maryland over Georgetown, Georgia Tech - Apr 21, 2017

Sean Obi
Duke graduate transfer Sean Obi (6'9''-F-95) will reportedly play for the Maryland Terrapins next season. On Thursday, Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com reported the news and noted Obi chose Maryland over the likes of Georgia Tech and Georgetown. The 6'9" Obi didn't appear in a game for the Blue Devils last season because of injury and played just 27 total minutes and tallied five points and 10 rebounds in 2015-16. However, he thrived as a freshman at Rice in 2013-14 with 11.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. If he can remain healthy, Obi adds frontcourt depth to a Terrapins team that will be without the departed Damonte Dodd and L.G. Gill. Michal Cekovsky, Justin Jackson, Ivan Bender and incoming freshman Bruno Fernando, who is a 4-star recruit, per Scout, figure to play plenty of minutes, but Obi gives them another body down low who can battle for rebounds and score on the blocks.

The NBA is reportedly exploring the possibility of ending the infamous one-and-done rule that forces many potential professional basketball players to head to college for at least one season. According to a report from ESPN's Zach Lowe, citing a league memo sent to NBA teams late this week, the league office is indicating that 'eligibility rules' for the NBA draft could change as soon as 2021 or 2022 - but not earlier. The league is currently trying to figure out how the FBI's investigati...   [read more]
Kentucky lands five-star point guard next season as Ashton Hagans reclassifies to Class of 2018, will enroll at UK - 3 days ago
Ashton Hagans (6'4''-PG), the top-ranked point guard in the Class of 2019, has graduated high school and will now reclassify and enroll at Kentucky in time to play basketball for the Wildcats next season. It's a development that could make UK the preseason favorite to win the 2019 national title -- especially if Reid Travis, a graduate transfer from Stanford, also enrolls at Kentucky. Travis averaged 19.5 points and 8.7 rebounds for the Cardinal last season. He's expected to visit UK next...   [read more]
