Forward Dillon Brooks (6'6''-F-96) scored 27 points, including the final 12 for Oregon, as the 13th-ranked Ducks survived Arizona State 71-70 Thursday night at Matthew Knight Arena. Oregon trailed 60-59 with just under four minutes remaining before the 6-foot-7 junior scored on Oregon's next five possessions, including a couple 3-pointers, to help the Ducks avoid an upset. Forward Jordan Bell (6'9''-F-95) added 13 points and guard Tyler Dorsey (6'4''-SG-96) had 11 as Oregon improved to 20-3 and 9-1 in the conference heading into a showdown with No. 5 Arizona on Saturday. Shannon Evans (6'1''-G-94) II scored 28 to lead ASU, which fell to 10-13 and 3-7 in conference. Brooks made two free throws to put the Ducks ahead to start the run as the Ducks went up 71-66 before Evans hit a jumper with 35.8 seconds left. After Pritchard missed two free throws, Torian Graham (6'4''-G-93) scored with 2.9 seconds left before Oregon ran out the clock. ASU led by three points at halftime. Oregon led 50-48 when Bell scored, but Graham followed with a three-pointer that put ASU into the lead at 51-50 with 7:21 left. Dorsey scored Oregon's next seven points and Bell added a bucket to put the Ducks up 59-54. Evans followed with a basket and guard Tra Holder scored before Graham made a 3-pointer to give the Sun Devils a 60-59 lead. Brooks scored five straight Oregon points before Evans tied the game 64-64 on a 3-pointer with 2:08 left to play. Forward Obinna Oleka (6'7''-F) hit a three-pointer and Holder scored as ASU tied the game 21-21 before Dorsey scored to put Oregon into the lead in the first half. Evans made two free throws and a 3-pointer to put the Sun Devils up 26-23, but Boucher followed with a bucket for Oregon before Evans scored to put Arizona State ahead 28-25 at halftime.

The Marquette men's basketball team landed some immediate help for its backcourt on Friday. Coach Steve Wojciechowski secured a commitment from Fordham graduate transfer guard Joseph Chartouny (6'3''-G-94). He is eligible to play next season. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound native of Montreal will help bolster a Golden Eagles backcourt that lost Andrew Rowsey to graduation.
