Promise for Eldridge? - May 9, 2010

Word on the street is that Osiris Eldridge (6'3''-G-88, agency: N.E.T.) has already has a team ready to draft him on June 24. Sometime last week, a secret workout took place in Chicago, where Eldridge's agent and the team hoped they could avoid publicity. Word leaked and soon thereafter, I received feedback from two of the four teams with only 2nd round picks, that Eldridge's agent had refused workout invitations. This puts Eldridge no lower than 45.

Eldridge certainly is an NBA level athlete. I question only his shot and shot selection. Apparently, Eldridge had improved under the guidance of Tim 'the Target' Sullivan, who Coach Jim Boeheim of Syracuse calls, the greatest shooting coach in the country.'

I am speculating that the suitors are among Detroit (36) . Miami (41,42). or Memphis (28).

Koenig leads No. 17 Wisconsin past Michigan, 68-64 - 15 hours ago
Bronson Koenig (6'4''-G) scored 16 points, 10 in a key run that turned the game around, and No. 17 Wisconsin survived a scare from Michigan 68-64 on Tuesday night. Michigan (12-7, 2-4 Big Ten) seemed to have Wisconsin (15-3, 4-1) on the ropes at one point in the second half. Wisconsin's Ethan Happ (6'9''-F-96) went to the bench with his third foul early and could largely only watch as the Wolverines went on a 17-2 run that put them up 38-30. The Wolverines even hit 3s on consecutive posse...   [read more]

Walker Fuels Loyola (MD) Past Boston - 1 day ago
Baltimore, MD - Loyola (MD) held off a late Boston University run with several important late game free throws, closing a 77-69 win. Boston opened conference play on a five game winning streak sitting atop the Patriot League standings. Loyola has been a little inconsistent to say the least, and started play at 2-3. This game was different than many would have expected, even with Boston being on the road. Loyola got off to a great start and never looked back leading the entire game. The G...   [read more]

No. 2 Kansas Beats Iowa State 76-72 for 17th Straight Win - 1 day ago
No. 2 Kansas passed its biggest Big 12 road test of the season, winning in a gym where losing was threatening to become a trend. Frank Mason (5'11''-PG-94) III had 16 points, Landen Lucas scored 14 and the Jayhawks held off Iowa State 76-72 on Monday night for their 17th straight win. Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (6'8''-G-97) added 13 for the Jayhawks (17-1, 6-0 Big 12), who snapped a two-game skid in Ames and opened 6-0 in the Big 12 for the 10th time. "It's always tough (here)," Lucas said. "W...   [read more]
