Demitri
Harris
Island Storm (NBL Canada) waived 27-year old naturalized Greek forward Demitri Harris (198-90). But in 12 NBL Canada games he recorded just 0.3ppg this season.
The last season Harris played at Balloholics in U.S. semi-pro league ABA.
His team made it to the AUS Semifinals in 2010.
Harris has played previously professionally in Canada (Huskies) and ABA (Seattle M. and Vancouver B.).
The scouts decsribe him following way: (By Chris Mammides):
Demetri, another Greek blooded basketball player who's an athletic and agile forward who plays hard on both ends of the floor. He runs the floor well and has an assortment of nimble post moves. Demitri started as a guard in his HS as 4-5 years before he was only 6'2'', 6'3'' and he had great size and quickness at the guard position so at this stage the guard position is also in his menu. Due to the fact that he is very athletic he uses his length to create mismatches for himself on the court. He's a smart player with a good understanding of the game. He has nice offensive skills with the ability to drive or pull up for a mid-range jumper. He's a good defender with quick hands and nice anticipation in the passing lanes'. Very efficient on the baseline (nice up and under moves) and explosive off the ground. He is a hard working player and very coachable, is a player that all coaches love to work with as he follows every single tip it gets with great accuracy. He is definitely of a very good basketball material and he has all the qualities of becoming a Pro
