Chad Frazier (6'4''-G-92, college: UAB) made the first of two free throws with 0.8 seconds left in the fourth quarter to give the Cape Breton Highlanders a 100-99 victory over the Halifax Hurricanes at Scotiabank Centre on Sunday afternoon. It was the second time this season that Cape Breton has defeated their provincial rivals on Halifax's home court. The Hurricanes jumped out to a 30-23 advantage following the first quarter. Cape Breton stormed back in the second, to cut the deficit to just 2 points as the teams headed to the locker rooms at halftime 49-47. The Hurricanes outscored the Highlanders 30-28 in the third quarter. Halifax held a 99-96 lead with 39 seconds left in the fourth, but Highlanders' Billy Rush hit a clutch 3-pointer to tie the game at 99. Michael Poole had 26 points and 7 rebounds to pace Halifax's offense. Antoine Mason (6'3''-G-92, college: Auburn) chipped in with 20 points and 4 rebounds and Billy White (6'8''-F-89, college: San Diego St.) had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Frazier led Cape Breton's attack with 20 points and 6 rebounds while Charles Mann (6'5''-G-94, college: Georgia) Jr. and Hank Thorns had 17 points each. The Hurricanes now have a two-week break before returning to action on Sunday, April 9 at 2:00 p.m. for a home game against the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans.

River Lions net first-ever 3-game win streak - 2 days ago
A funny thing has happened since the Niagara River Lions increased their Canadian content. The team hasn't lost. Lightning Top Storm 123-117 - 3 days ago
The London Lightning beat the Island Storm 123-117 on Tuesday to set an NBL Canada record with their 34th regular season win. The two teams were back-and-forth in the first quarter, but London was able to take a 34-22 lead going into the second. A's fall on the road to Niagara River Lions, 121-106 - 5 days ago
After losing a close one to the Kitchener-Waterloo Titans the night before, the Orangeville A's (15-22) headed to the Meridian Centre to take on the Niagara River Lions for a 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon game.
